Centenary of ANZAC Schools and Citizens Competitions Awards Civic Lunch

Etienne Lawyers was priviledged to be invited to attend the Centenary of ANZAC Schools and Citizens Competitions Awards Civic Lunch held at Biviano’s Italian Restaurant Dural this week. Even though the weather was cold, windy and wet the spirit of the event was warm and inviting.

These ANZAC events allow us as a community to remember the sacrifices that our service men and women from generations past and present made for our freedom. This particular event brought school students, local leaders and the community together to commemorate one of our most historical events.

Hills Community ANZAC

The lunch was organised and conducted by Year 11 Centenary of ANZAC Ambassadors – Austin Rosier, Kellyville High School; Heather Anderson – Marian College; Hannah Kohler – Northolm Grammar and Stephen Hancock – Hills Grammar.

The students did a magnificent job in the organisation of the day. We were fortunate to be entertained by musicians and vocalist from the local schools who are amazingly talented and professional.

We would like to congratulate the winners of the Poetry and Prose competitions. The entrants ranged from Kindergarten aged children through to adults.

Thanks to Biviano’s Italian Restaurant for hosting the event. A lovely atmosphere, delicious food and a warm dry haven.

Thank you also to The Hills RSL, The Hills Shire Council and the organising committee for the Hills Community Centenary of ANZAC 2015 for making this and the other events possible. Without their tireless effort none of this would have been possible.

Etienne Lawyers is proud to play our small part in the Hills Community Centenary of ANZAC 2015 and to be a Platinum Sponsor.

BEST WISHES TO DAVID & IRENA BROOKS

David and Irena BW

Etienne Lawyers are excited that the 2014 World Senior II Standard Championships commence today. They Hyatt Regency Hotel, Vancouver, Canada is the elegant venue for such a prestigious event.

David and Irena Brooks – Australian Senior II Standard Champions are tanning and stretching in anticipation of competing later today.

They have trained long and hard for this opportunity and are anxious to hear the music start and walk onto the floor.

Many years of time, money, sweat and injuries have brought them to this point. It is most deserved.

David and Irena commenced dancing when their children were young and taking lessons themselves. At first they seemed like an ‘odd couple’. Irena – tiny and an ex-ballerina, David – tall and an ex-rugby player. Not the makings of a champion couple. However, they have worked hard, perfected their craft and now take to the world stage representing Australia. They are a force to be reckoned with.

No detail is too small for their attention and no hurdle to high for them to overcome.

David and Irena are passionate about both their dancing and representing Australia.

Etienne Lawyers wishes them good luck and hope that they enjoy the experience of competing with the best in the world.

Excellence in Work Health and Safety 2014 WSABE Winner thanks his supporters

Carl Albrecht, Director of Work Health and Safety Pty Ltd today thanked the sponsors of the 2014 WSABE awards and his supporters.

In his speech, he thanked Steve Brown and Etienne Lawyers for being a principal sponsor of the WSABEs. They were the sole sponsor of the Excellence in Work Health and Safety Award that his business succeeded in overcoming the competition to win.

He went on to acknowledge the support of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce and his wife.

Work Health and Safety permeates every level of a business. From the levels of productivity and days lost to incidents, to the set up of operational equipment. Training and development are critical pathways for work health and safety to be inculcated into the fabric of any organisation.

Legally, WHS affects human resources, customer interactions, logistics and infrastructure and is one of the main causes of conflict between employers and employee bodies.

By creating a business solely focused on helping other businesses succeed through WHS, Carl Albrecht’s organisation is not only a creditable business, but is also encouraging good corporate citizenship. For all of these reasons, Etienne Lawyers applaud Carl and his team at Work Health and Safety Pty Ltd – a very worthy recipient of the 2014 WSABE Excellence in Work Health and Safety Award.
